Backup Contact
Last updated: November 1, 2026
This page describes the Stirrup Backup Contact text program from New Lands Group LLC, doing business as Stirrup, an Illinois limited liability company. Live texts are not sending yet. They start only after business texting registration is approved.
What the text is
Stirrup is an iPhone alarm. A worker can name one Backup Contact and enter that person’s mobile number. If the worker has not checked in by a missed-alarm deadline, Stirrup sends that person one text. The deadline is never more than 20 minutes after the alarm first rings. Checking in means finishing the puzzle or tapping “I’m up” in the app.
Sample:
Stirrup: Jordan Lee hasn’t checked in for their 7:30 AM shift alarm. They may need coverage. Call them: 7735550100. Reply STOP to opt out.
The real text uses the name, alarm time, and callback number saved in the app. If no callback number was saved, the “Call them” part is left off. “Stirrup:” and “Reply STOP to opt out.” stay on every text.
How often
One text per missed alarm. Stirrup does not send marketing texts, reminders, or a newsletter on this program.
Message and data rates may apply.
How someone opts in
The worker types the Backup Contact’s mobile number in the Stirrup app and saves it. They may add a number only if that person agreed to receive these missed-alarm texts. There is nothing to buy. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.
This is the screen where a worker adds a Backup Contact in the Stirrup app. It reminds them to add only people who agreed to texts.

What the worker asks the Backup Contact
Before adding a number, the worker asks the person, in person, by phone, or by message, using wording like this:
“Stirrup is my alarm app. If I miss my shift alarm, it can send you one text with my name and the alarm time so you can check on me. It is one text per missed alarm. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time. Is it OK if I add your number?”
The worker adds the number only if the person says yes. The app reminds the worker: “Only add people who agreed to texts.”
How to stop
Reply STOP to cancel further Backup Contact texts to that phone. Reply HELP for help. You can also email aaron@getstirrup.com or call (773) 389-0888.
Who sends it
New Lands Group LLC, doing business as Stirrup, using Twilio to deliver the text. The Backup Contact’s number and the message are sent to Twilio for delivery only.
